By Caroline Everything comes together in this last instalment of Dark Alpha, but not necessarily how we would all expect… LOVED picks up from where we left off in Penance (book 5), where after rescuing his love Arianna from the grasps of her unwanted alpha, Mace, Jak is now sacrificing himself for Arianna’s complete riddance of Mace from her blood, and for the safety of her and her family’s future. With the help of a witch, Circe, the spell should draw out Mace’s wolf from Arianna’s blood, and join Jak’s – where the two will fight it out until Jak’s body can no longer bare it. Only Arianna doesn’t know Jak’s plan.Many questions are to be asked during the first few pages; will Circe’s spell work and free Arianna from Mace totally, or will Mace’s magic bond be forever mixed with her own blood forever? He is aware of Mace’s vicious and dark side, but Mace is his brother. At the same time, he saved Jak from a bad life himself, and brought him up like a son. This would be a fascinating character to explore more, and I would love it if Gage showed up in any future work of Alisa’s.I can’t wait to see what Alisa Woods has in store for her fans next. Her writing is exciting, emotional, suspenseful and dark. You can catch up with both True Alpha and Dark Alpha now available in individual boxed sets, or as individual short stories. God, there is just not enough ways to tell ya how good.. no great this series is! Thank you again Alisa for a fan-fucking-tastic series. And for letting me be a part of the advanced readers. Its a pleasure and something I look forward to. You are awesome..Love, Love, Love, this final installment!! Jak and Arianna have a wild heart about them and they will do anything they can for one another. It is given in and taken back. They share a lot of things. An internal bond that is forever the way it should be. This installment was full of surprises and to be honest I am so glad this series ended the way it did. It wasn't what I expected to be honest. This series is one that you just can not put down. And when its done you are frothing at the mouth for more. No doubt this is a favorite right beside the True Alpha series

She realizes that the spell was killing Jak. She goes off on Circe and demands that the witch do something to save Jak."Loved" is an exciting read. Everyone stepped up to help Jak. There are a couple of surprises that I am sure readers will enjoy. The ending was well written and leaves you wanting to read more. Every woman should have a man like Jak--a man who would walk through the fires of Hell for you. Unselfishly devoted to loving and cherishing you. Arianna is a lucky girl indeed.I would like to thank the author, Alisa Woods for this wonderful gift. I look forward to reading more of her work in the future. I highly recommend this series because it is truly a page turner that you will enjoy as I have done so.

In Book One, Corgan expertly sets the stage for her story with an introduction to Flesh, an amazing experience for those who would like to safely test the waters in the world of BDSM with as much or as little as their heart desires. And oh my good glory, is it ever sexy! In Book Two, Corgan now delves into the development and personality of the characters. In Book Three, Corgan begins to build the heat to a slow sensual burn! In Book Four, Corgan begins to kick up the heat! Now in Book Five, as the heat and attraction builds begin our two main characters, we see more of their individual personalties, their fears and desires. Oh my! Somebody call 911! Sky Corgan is a woman on fire and judging by what I've read so far, this is just the beginning! Good Golly Miss Molly - I am now officially hooked - hook, line and sinker! The story is exciting, thrilling, enticing, compelling, erotic, sensual and steamy. The dialogue is smart, seductive, arousing, very well written and flows effortlessly. The characters are fascinating, captivating, engaging, intriguing and sexy as sin. Corgan uses her amazing talent, unparalleled skill and unique style to brilliantly combine these elements into a wonderfully entertaining and satisfying read. Amy Underwood is in a rut. Her life is boring and she hasn't had sex in seven years. She loves her job as an interior designer and decorator at Environ Design and Derrick, her gay, work boyfriend is great but none of that satisfies her sexual needs. God, so pathetic! Her roommate Janice finally convinces her to sign up for a session at Flesh but good lord, she's never even had sex unless she was in a relationship. How in the world is she supposed to be naked in front of some stranger much less participate in some kinky BDSM scene. Oh well, maybe she could just dip a toe to see if the water is warm. Just one time, that's all. Maybe then her roommate will stop bugging her about it. Yep, she'll try it once and never go back. Or will she? But her mysterious, sexy one night only Dom, only known as "Sir", just may have something else in mind. Oh my! Was their chance client meeting strictly a coincidence or was it "strictly" set up by none other than Mr Mystery Man himself, wealthy, well known plastic surgeon, Dr Lucian Reddick? Hmmm.......I wonder??? It seems the dominant Dr Reddick has plans for the lovely shy Amy Underwood. And what are those plans? Well, I don't like to give spoilers but I will say that we see much more of what he has planned for the lovely innocent Amy in this installment but I suspect the best is yet to come! And his plans include a lot more than working with her to redecorate his home. He definitely wants to see how the creamy flesh of Amy's body looks draped across his bed! A perfect accent to the room decor - especially if she's tied up and waiting for him! It seems the irresistible Lucian Reddick is very involved in the BDSM lifestyle and wants Amy to be involved as well. But the innocent naive Amy struggles with the morality of the BDSM lifestyle and unlike her roommate, is not eager to become a willing participant. She would never become a submissive and participate in a staged scene in front of other people! Never say never! But just what will Amy do to keep her job! Or is her job just an excuse to continue to see the handsome Lucian? Me thinks Amy doth protest too much! Amy has already dipped a toe to test the water but she better know how to swim because she's definitely in deep water and apparently she can't decide if she wants to sink, or swim with Sir. Hmmm.......Yowza! I guess we'll find out more in Book Six! I can hardly wait! Oh, Oh, Oh! It's just so exciting! I was turning the pages so fast, my IPad couldn't keep up! Fabulous entertainment and an awesome read!

This is the 5th installment and the story just keeps getting better and better! I don't know how Sky Corgan does it but she can really write a tale of great characters that you want to shout and scream at, sit down with and share a glass of wine with or go to bed with (Lucian). This particular installment was a little frustrating to read only because Amy, the heroine, doesn't know what to do, give in to Lucian or walk away but before she can walk away he invites her to Fleshfest. "Fleshfest??" you say, it is a festival put on by Flesh the BDSM club that Amy and Lucian originally meet and now it is open to anyone to introduce them to their BDSM world. Amy says yes to the invite butAmy decides to bring her best friend, Janice, with her eventhough Lucian invited Amy there as more of a date then a casual meeting so bad move on Amy and then she again listens to Janice and leaves Lucian waiting and when they FINALLY get to Flesh and find Lucian...well, I won't ruin it for anyone but Amy gets a very big and very bad surprise! So now what will Amy do? What will Lucian do? What will Janice do after she realizes what her advice to her friend does to her friend's relationship?Can't wait to see what will happen next...where will Sky Corgan take us next?? Bravo Sky...keep the story of Flesh coming!!!

Flesh: Part Five (The Flesh Series Book 5) By unicorn64 Amy can't resist Lucian not that he lets her and Derrick pulls it out of her though he doesn't understand once Lucian starts on her she can't resist. Her mind wants to but not her body. On her next visit to his house to go over furniture she is finally able to resist but fleshfest is coming and Lucian invites her to come so he can show her more about what he likes. She does agree to go but tellls Janice about it and Janice invites herself to come with her. She was supposed to be there at 8 but Janice kept her walking with her and caused her to not get there till after 9. She finally finds Lucian and he is with another girl so Amy feels like he has already forgotten her. This was the end of the part so now I'm really in a tizzy can't wait for part 6. Did Amy loose Lucian for good. She is so torn, wanting him and not wanting him. Course she still wants him as a lover not a Dom. She still doesn't fully understand what it is to be submissive to a Dominant. I really am feeling what she feels completely. It is an emotional rollar coaster for Amy and for me. Why I am anxious for the next books in the series. Since it covers BDSM material it is not meant for minors under 18. 5 stars keep going Sky.

By Peggy Chambers In the “About the Author” section of Sacred Alarm Clock it is said that John Biggs is so full of Oklahoma you’ll never get the red dirt stains out after reading it. As a fellow Okie, I couldn’t agree more. After his first two books I thought he couldn’t get any better. I was wrong. Sacred Alarm Clock is an anthology of short stories that reads like a novel, two of which won awards prior to publication. His crazy characters become darker as time goes on and hold you spellbound. Another five stars, John!

Sacred Alarm Clock follows the adventures of an interlocking cast of characters coping with a dystopian world where food, medicine, and human kindness are in short supply. Just imagine Elizabeth Strout’s award-winning "Olive Kittridge," set in a grim and terrifying Oklahoma City at the dawn of the apocalypse.The Sacred Alarm Clark is definitely not a sunny read. Nevertheless, I think readers will find the book compelling and, at the end of the day, strangely uplifting.

It is peopled with brilliantly-drawn characters, from the heroic to the truly evil. Biggs grabs us right from page one, and never lets go. If you are a fan of post-apocalyptic fiction, put this one on your reading list!

However, Klaus still morns his lost love Vivianne. I guess when you’ve lived for so many hundreds of years, 40 years is nothing. So when Klaus is presented with the opportunity to resurrect Vivianne, he turns a blind eye to the horrors unleashed because of it.The Loss is the second installment in the tv-tie in series that focuses on The Original vampires, the hit spin-off of the Vampire Diaries. Klaus is all-consumed with Vivianne. Rebecca has plenty of personality and wants a bit of revenge for what Klaus put them through, and she’s the only one who doesn’t trust Vivianne’s return. And Elijah is busy trying to discover the mystery behind the new zombie-like creatures in the woods that can match his strength. This story is packed with mystery, danger, excitement, romance, gruesome action, and a great story. Everything that makes this series great. I can’t get enough of these characters and the great writing that the series is known for. I would love to see the series of books continue after this planned trilogy. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Engaging, quick read By C Thilmany Based on the Vampire Diaries, this is the second book involving the Mikaelson siblings; the original vampires. This is set in New Orleans in the early 1800s and involves what someone will do in the name of love and the consequences of using magic in an unnatural way.When agreeing to read this book, I had not been aware this was tied to the Vampire Diaries TV series, or that this was the second book in this offshoot. I did learn this prior to actually reading it and yes, it’s obvious that a book came before it. But I found this story easy to follow and don’t believe my lack of knowledge in any way affected my enjoyment of the story.It’s not an especially complex story, but it does involve not just the vampires but also witches and werewolves, with the story told from the points of view of the vampire siblings; Klaus, Elijah and Rebekah.I found this to be both an easy read and an engaging story with plenty of action. And as I mentioned, it’s not necessary to be aware of this world or these characters to enjoy this book.I read this from an ARC, which also contains the first 3 chapters of the next book.

If she was, I'm guessing the plot of that one centered on the 1722 battle between the Mikaelsons (the Original vampires) and the witches over who would rule New Orleans. We learn from 'The Loss' that the battle culminated in witch-induced hurricane and an explosion, and that Vivianne died.Now it's 1766. The Mikaelsons rule New Orleans with a firm hand, keeping the witch clans at bay in the surrounding swamplands. The werewolves, too, have fled the city for fear of Klaus. And Klaus still mourns Vivianne. She's the great love of his long, long, unnatural life....Which leads to a terrible decision. Pining for his lost love, Klaus goes to the leader of the witches, Lily Leroux, with an opal pendant from his witch mother. The pendant has magical properties, and Lily uses it to bring Vivianne back from the land of the dead.This is a lesson literature has tried to teach us before. Bringing someone back from the dead worked out very poorly in Stephen King's 'Pet Sematary,' in Douglas Clegg's 'Isis,' and in J.K. Rowling's "Tale of the Three Brothers" in 'The Tales of Beedle the Bard.' Klaus is many centuries old by the 18th century and should have known better.The side effect of the spell creates an evil not yet seen in the Vampire Diaries world: zombies. In fact, Vivianna herself is slowing becoming more and more like the walking undead, who have a penchant for eating the hearts out of living things. Their first victim is Elijah's lover, Ava.Don't worry about Elijah, though - he's learned not to get too attached to other vamps who aren't his siblings. By the end of the book, he's moved on to the lovely gray-eyed vamp Lisette.Is Lisette a character on the show? I haven't watched very much of 'The Originals,' although I'm familiar with Elijah, Rebekah, and Klaus from the TV version of 'The Vampire Diaries.'Some of the most delicious bits of this book are Klaus's love scene with Vivianne and Elijah's love scene with Lisette. Rebekah doesn't get a love scene in this one, unfortunately. The great love of her life, Eric Moquet, lost his life in the hurricane.Klaus is a difficult character to love because of his destructive tendencies, but I find Rebekah quite sympathetic. She causes her fair share of destruction as well, but she's also been epicly mistreated by her older half-brother."By" Julie Plec is a bit of a misnomer; this was ghostwritten, with Plec credited as creatrix of the 'Vampire Diaries' spin-off. She gets a lot of fandom hate, but I like her a whole lot more now that I know her horror film credits include 'Cursed,' the stupidest werewolf movie I ever loved.

About the Author Yuri and Katrin Shumakov - a stellar artist-duo, professional origami creators, who started their origami journey in France in 1989 and since then they unfold this art in a heretofore unseen way! They have created amazing paper world ORILAND with incredible fantasy Kingdoms that impress with rich detail of majestic castles, abundance of paper flora and busy life of little paper dwellers. Their newest kingdoms Toy-ronto and Albuquerque combine fantasy and reality together, presenting a whimsical artistic rendition of iconic sights of these cities. Another beautiful and elegant aspect of origami they brought to life is ORIBANA - a marriage of two Japanese arts: Origami and Ikebana. By combining these remarkable art-forms, in early 1990s Katrin and Yuri began to create paper flower arrangements in paper vases and thought up a distinctive name for it - Oribana. Since then they designed more than 50 charming oribana-compositions with a broad variety of origami flowers and vases. Being prolific origami authors they created more than a thousand of origami designs from simple forms and cute characters to complex dinosaurs' skeletons and architecture that all have a distinctive Oriland style. Psychologists by education, Katrin and Yuri have studied how origami helps children learn. Their Ph.D scientific work shows that by doing origami, children develop better use of both hands and that origami can improve creativity and intelligence in children ages 7 to 11. They believe that origami is "entertainment for the soul, gymnastics for the mind, and training for the hands." In 1999, Yuri and Katrin received the Silver Award in the ThinkQuest International Competition for their 'Travel to Oriland' website and it brought them and their team to Universal Studios Hollywood for the Award Ceremony! Their Oriland.com website became a winner of the Childnet Award that was given them in Paris, France. Both these projects were acknowledged as high quality creative, educational and fun websites for children and adults. Yuri and Katrin have written more than 30 origami books and instructional CDs, and their works have been exhibited in many countries including several venues in the United States, France, Spain and Canada. The Shumakovs also extend their artistic talents to the realm of photography and music. Katrin is a winner of the Toronto Photo Contest 2010. Yuri is enjoying music composing and sound design. An amazing way to create any size 3/D picture frame By Rachel Katz Using the easy to follow instructions and ordinary copy paper, I've just created my first shadow box frame. No other materials were necessary. It is a pleasure to fold and rather magical as it goes from flat to 3/D. There are several variations in the profile of the frames and detailed charts throughout the book to help you achieve the desired finished size.

This was put to some of speculative fictions best writers. The results are mixed.Knowing that the authors were known for spec fiction, I expected supernatural tales. Perhaps I should say I hoped for supernatural; I know that spec fiction doesn't necessarily have to be supernatural. There are a few stories of the supernatural, but most are not. A number are about 9/11, but they are not, as one would assume, about the fear of terrorists. They are more about fear that infiltrates and pervades the lives of those who went through 9/11.There are stories about pimps, about people who disconnect completely from their lives to deal with fear, about choosing death rather than living with loss. There is one really creepy one about a stalker, and a rather beautiful one about a golem. My favorite is one set in the Beatnik era, when an... alien? shows up in the basement of a jazz club and changes life in the Village.While I didn't hate any of the stories, neither did I really like many of them. I can't give it a very high rating, I'm afraid.

The book features recipes and crafts that are not full of glitter or sparkles, but rather projects dad would want to do with their kids. The crafts feature cardboard castles, gliders robots and more. There are directions, pictures, tips, suggestions and more. I like it because so many books are geared towards girls, not that this book is just for boys. There are even templates in the back of the book to re-use for projects.

It's as if he's speaking to himself - he can picture what he wants to get across in his mind but it just doesn't come out in a way that others can utilize the information.That's the feeling that I got from this book. As an active do-it-yourselfer the abstract ideas seemed worthwhile, but I had absolutely no idea what the author was talking about much of the time. The materials list and directions for some projects were vague, in some cases incomplete, the author seemed to assume that the audience knew beforehand how to do some tasks and therefore failed to explain them.Unclear materials included "fat quarters", "large pipe clumps", "pocket hole screws" but no mention of needing a pocket hole jig to use them, and "small, medium, and large pieces of wood".There are no diagrams or photographs depicting what the projects should look like during or after construction. Just words. And for this sort of book, that doesn't seem to be enough to make it worthwhile. The old saying "A picture is worth a thousand words" would seem to apply here.

Those who already have a dedication to DIY will love it. The instructions in this book are simple, but the ease with which one can accomplish each hack will vary – some hacks are definitely a lot easier to attempt than others, and many hacks may require special shopping excursions to obtain all items listed in each set of instructions - certainly not a problem for those who like shopping! And for those people like looking at pictures of the final product, you’ll be better off looking elsewhere – this book is definitely meant for those with an imagination.

I also manage to make a mess in the house any time I try to do something. This book taught me how to save time and complete successful DIY projects. The author gives some amazing tips for reusing old items from the house. I was going to throw away many of the things but now I discovered a new use for them.

For a beginner's point of view i don't think it's enough for me to learn knitting with the contents of the book, on the crochet part, since i already know how to do it, it already has the same things i've learned before. Maybe I'll try to read it again and try to get the hang of it.
