It's suspenseful and funny and creepy and clever- all the right ingredients to entice even the most reluctant readers. Not too heavy and not too sweet, this magazine is filled with creative and interesting illustrations, stories and poems. Filled with nice, quick reads but so interesting and wonderfully weird that kids will likely read it cover to cover in one sitting. Absolutely loved it, highly recommended!

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. A fun, children's version of spooky! By Alyssa Stinkwaves is a magazine full of short stories and poems. There are also illustrations that fit many of the stories. I enjoyed reading it, but my son LOVED it. It's the perfect read for Middle Graders. Each story is written with it's own theme and photo. In this volume, I truly enjoyed Mummy Mouse and The Cat Who Broke the Witch's Heart but there are many to dive into. My only issue is that it was very short. Had I subscribed to this, I'd probably have been irritated. If I order something, I want substance- even for my son. This is a thin book, with a handful of tales- some very short. I understand they want to keep them coming, but when you're a magazine and not a book (I thought it was just a book volume), you should have more. Stinkwaves is cool, but not enough for me. But like I said, they weren't targeting me, so it doesn't matter. I loved this book every bit as much as I do all the books in the Great De-evolution series. This book is shorter than the others so of course leaves me hungering for more stories and books from Dietzel, in a good way. Highly recommended!

At the end of times what choices do we have? This teacher finds the ultimate answer. And God forbid mankind ends like this story..I believe we owe it to those that are left, to BELIEVE AND TO TRY TO SUSTAIN AS MUCH NORMALCY AS POSSIBLE. Knowing you are facing de-evolution has got to be devastating.

I have read everything he has published and have loved it all. In this short story he tells the tale of the coming end of civilization from yet another point of view, this time that of a high school English teacher helplessly watching the size of her class shrink as more and more families migrate south in a vain attempt to delay the inevitable.As with all of his previous work, Dietzel's great strength is his ability to make the reader feel like they are the character being portrayed. You can't get bored when you are so deeply involved in the story. My only complaint about "The Last Teacher" is that it was so short. I wholeheartedly recommend it. It is not necessary to have read his other books on the subject in order to thoroughly understand and enjoy "The Last Teacher", but it will make most people seek out those they have not read.

I will also incorporate some designing rules and ideas as far as lighting, furniture placement, colors, and accessories. As a little girl, I remember watching my mother and grandmother set tables, wondering how you could go from a simple wooden table to such an elaborate décor. It was magical, and I was fascinated by the artistry of it all. As I grew up, I spent endless hours leafing through decorating magazines, scrutinizing every detail of interiors. I hope to share my passion and pass down what I have learned to my daughters, granddaughters, and now you.

About the Author

Christopher Cuttle, MA, FCIBSE, FIESANZ, FIESNA, FSLL, is a lighting designer, educator, and author who lives in New Zealand. He gained broad experience of lighting in the UK before taking up academic positions in New Zealand (Senior Lecturer in schools of architecture in Wellington and Auckland) and in the USA (Head of Graduate Education in Lighting at the Lighting Research Center, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, New York). His books Lighting by Design (2003, 2nd edition 2008), and Light for Art’s Sake (2007), are both published by Routledge.

When it comes to teaching your pets new skills and tricks, you need to undergo three important stages:

1. Teaching Stage - In this first phase, your dog is unaware of the things that you are requiring him to do. This is the stage wherein you will introduce new skills to your pets using various learning aids. You will teach him commands or phrases that will elicit a response or action. When you instruct him to sit, you can use treats or useful objects to help your pet comprehend what you want him to do when you utter the command.

2. Correction Stage - Once your dog understands the command, it is now time to polish his skills. First, hide the treats from your dog. If your pet manages to follow the command that you have given, provide him with kind praises and a treat. If the dog was not able to perform the action correctly, correct him gently and show how it is done. If he is able to do it properly, reward him with a treat.

3. Proofing Stage - You can only reach this stage if your pet shows exemplary performance in a consistent manner. The proofing stage aims to ensure that your pet's response is still accurate even though he is in a different environment or setting. In this phase, you need to challenge your dog's abilities by including some distractions around him. If your pet gets distracted, you have to coach him to stick to the drill. Having an obedient companion that stays focused amidst distractions will make him more reliable in any type of situation.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Concise guide on training your dog By Mike I have a pet chihuahua. I have had the worst time trying to get him housebroken. He realizes what we want him to do, it just seems that he decides to be stubborn sometimes. I have been following the methods outlined in chapter five. I have already noticed a difference. He is not perfect yet, but I see improvement, and he seems to be realizing how important it is to only potty outside. If you have any problems with your pet dog than I would recommend that you read this book. The information was presented in an easy to understand manner, and I think it is going to be a big help to me.

The most important method was 'clicking,' which lets the dog know he did something good. It brings the connection between the action and reward. I remember my friend used it one time but I didn't care enough to ask about it.And basically just the emphasis of reinforcements versus punishment is further reinforced in me.There's actually a lot more information in this book than I participated and it's surely worth the price, I recommend any dog owner with novice dog training abilities to benefit by checking this book out.

I like how the book teaches you how to train your dog with commands while you stand side by side. Most dog training I see focuses on standing in front of your dog. I think the dog can maybe understand better when you are by it's side doing the action. It was good to learn more about clicker training. I've got 2 large dogs that I feel would benefit from that type of training.
