No matter how well-versed we are in feline body language and no matter how talkative they may be, there always seems to be a part of them that they keep to themselves. In Letters from Cats, Stacey Ritz imagines what cats might tell us if they were to write us letters.The letters in this book are at times charmingly funny, at other times heartbreakingly sad. From “Yes, I ate that,” in which a cat is very pleased with herself for having just eaten an unattended turkey sandwich to “Don’t forget about me,” in which a senior cat wonders why her family abandoned her in a cage at a shelter, this book will alternately bring smiles and tears, sometimes at the same time.

Smiles, purrs and tears...they are all in here By Marci Kladnik It was obvious that the author is an advocate of shelter rescue and spay/neuter, and for this I applaud her as both of these things are near and dear to my own heart. The "letters" and other messages are written in many voices, some appearing in rhyme and others in prose. I chuckled and cried and even purred some as I read, and perhaps you will too. I love the fact that a portion of the proceeds will go towards spay and neuter in Ohio.

The stories are easy to read and the book would be a great gift for anyone who loves animals. Some sections made me laugh, as I thought about the Times my felines have acted similarly. While other chapters shed light on rescue/shelter situations I never considered and brought tears to my eyes. I will recommend this book to anyone considering cat rescue or fostering!

The reason for the poor rating is that there aren't any pictures of the finished project or exploded diagrams of the projects. This has been a complaint of mine about other project/plan books I've read on my Kindle as well. Most of them I immediately deleted after glancing through them. I AT LEAST want to know what the project is supposed to look like when it's done.

It assumes a working knowledge of how to join pieces together, types of glue, and types of wood. It goes have some explanations at the beginning of the book. The worst part is there are no pictures anywhere! If the book had pictures I would give it 4 stars. Do it yourself books need pictures.

By George I've just got into woodworking as my wife was always asking me to make things but I wasn't sure where to start or what I needed. This gave me a great introduction into woodworking and basically how to get started. I'm working on something now and I found this has a lot of tips and tricks to make things easier. Worth a read.

I found this and more. I read so much, so fast, that most of the time a book is just a book - just a story to while away the time. Not this time. This time G J Kelly pulled me into his world - my heart is in my throat from the danger in the swamp/woods and I am casting my sight around hoping to escape...I am thrilled one moment and pacing in circles talking to myself the next because I have to put the book down and process what I have read. Books don't always pull me emotionally into them...Bravo...and when will the next book be out? I am not sure I can be any more patient than Argo.

Again, I laughed and cried along with the characters. I can't wait for the next part. But I will because each book is well worth the wait. While you can read this book as a standalone, I seriously recommend starting with King of Ashes and working your way through the first series as it will make the Shi'ell series more enjoyable. The details and history laid down will explain parts referenced in this story that may only partly make sense if you start here. They are all worth the time to read.

The reader meets wife, husband and son and we are introduced to a tense, moody household dominated by an unpleasant father. The wife and son go about their daily lives and we watch their every move.The ending is so good and unexpected, that I'm not going to spoil it for you.

It’s a good example of flash fiction done well - simple plot, flawed characters in a state of change, and a conclusion that lingers in your thoughts long after you’ve read ‘The End’.The story can be polished off in one sitting, which is ideal if you’re like me, time poor, but needing something to read every day. Read it on your commute to work, and you might look at people driving their cars in a different light.It’s very much in the style of the modern minimalist short story, with sparse descriptions, but pulling the reader’s focus to a few well-chosen details, allowing the imagination to fill in the blanks. Jon Edgell writes this style well. After reading this story, I’ll look up more of his work.

The book contains several stories written with a style and vocabulary not seen anymore. As usual, when encountering the unfamiliar word, the Kindle's built-in dictionary is great. I would really liked to have given four and a half stars but fractional stars aren't available. My only knock is the lack of a table of contents, which would have been helpful in a book of short stories.
