About the Author Ellen Feld is an IRA/Children's Choices winner (twice) who began writing about horses more than 20 years ago. At first she wrote for small, regional magazines, but within a few short years, her work began to appear regularly in large, national publications. In 2001, while waiting for her next assignment, Ms. Feld wrote a short story about a Morgan Horse. That tale became the first chapter of Blackjack: Dreaming of a Morgan Horse. The book went on to win a coveted Children s Choices award, an honor bestowed jointly by the International Reading Association and the Children s Book Council. To date, Ms. Feld has authored nine horse books, including seven in the Morgan Horse series. She lives in Massachusetts with her husband, two children, ten horses, and assorted other pets.

Maybe one was just laying around and I picked it up and enjoyed what I was reading. And Heather reminds me of my granddaughter so I particularly enjoy reading about her. Fact is, RIMFIRE is the best of the books I've read. It's just a good, old fashioned read with all the appropriate elements. The one thing that's missing is the romantic relationship between Nicholas and Heather. Will that come in a future book?????????????? Only the author knows.

When Nickolas becomes unable to show Rimfire, Heather shows him and injures him. Because of this Heather learns an important lesson about friendship and what happens when you do something that you shouldn't.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. ... to drop a line to remark how much I enjoyed it -- again By philnc I've almost finished reading this book through for the second time and just wanted to drop a line to remark how much I enjoyed it -- again.This second volume of two in T.J.'s "First Exoplanet" series picks up where the first left off. Once again mostly competent people are put in situations that test them, sometimes to the breaking point. In the end courage, intelligence and most of all, cooperation, save the day. For the most part the bad guys get their just deserts, and the good guys get the chance to make a difference -- even if it's not decisive.The tech continues to be believable, and the author has the discipline to refrain from resorting to all too familiar deus ex machina twists in resolving the plot. This is hard sci fi of the best kind, grounded in the plausible but still able to pull off some satisfying surprises (like the moment when our "silent service" makes its mark in an extraterrestrial sea -- a scene that cries out "miniseries" if any ever did).Anyway, I want to thank T.J. publicly for making the last couple of night watches for this humble IT worker (during which I had literally nothing to do but wait for someone to pull a virtual fire alarm if things went sideways) just a little more bearable.

This hot little military romance packs a wallop in a short span. Maddie's life is typical of a military wife, and anyone who has had a loved one serving overseas can relate to what she goes through. It's a spellbinding short story that pulls on all your emotions. The writing flows nicely and pulls you into her life and experiences. Jeff is a wonderful, supporting friend for her and a nice guy over all as well. I loved how their relationship developed and found it to be realistic given the circumstances that lead up to it. That's probably what I liked the most was how believable the story was. It's a wonderful military romance with a powerful personal journey, love, and lots of action.

It offers the scope of a workshop or a class with precise and comprehensive directions for many of the items needed in a garden as well as options and variations within the individual projects. With this book I will finally build a willow trellis to fit an odd space near my deck, and clear up my confusion regarding differences in cement and mortar for hypertufa as well as exterior mosaics. The book takes the reader through a year of seasons with wonderful and (for me) much needed organization, such as getting plant supports in place for your climbers while your seedlings are hardening off in easily constructed coldframes.All is offered in great detail for creating solidly structured projects that are in harmony with ecology and nature. A treasure chest of gardening ideas By violet On this first day of spring, I was thrilled to find my pre-ordered Handmade for the Garden waiting for me on my porch. There are over 200 pages of fabulous ideas for my garden, from potting, to mosaics, all the way to off-season projects. I cannot wait for my snow to melt so I can get gardening!

I already have three projects lined up that I can get started on even though there's still snow on the ground here in northwestern Connecticut. The project I'm most excited about is the willow switch fencing in page 156. The book is so beautifully shot, and the instructions for things I never would have thought to try are easy to follow and beautifully illustrated. Guagliumi's whole approach makes me want to up my game in the garden. She needs her own TV show!

First i thought it was the lack of time, but actually it was the lack of knowledge.This book teaches in a very easy way, how to grow your own herbs organically. I have also learned how to safe money by my own fresh food in the process. This is definitely something I am going to teach my friends too, so we can do it together. It is also much more fun and healthier. Great book.

Learn to grow fresh herbs easily By Ashton I've recently began growing herbs in my own small garden beside my house, but really had no experience in growing anything in the past. Cooking is one of my passions and I had always wanted my own herb garden to add fresh flavours to my meals. Although I was a complete novice in the beginning, with the help of this book I've managed to successfully grow a wide assortment of herbs, all within the confines of my tiny garden. Aneka must deal with the kidnapping of Ella by a previously mythical enemy. This is a stronger book then the last and introduces a new human culture. It focuses on Ella more then previous books and has a solid ending.
