This isn't a young adult dystopian tale. It's not romance. It's not cuddly.
The Thrown Away post-apocalyptic saga continues....
After months in the Recycling Zone breathing in polluted air and finding no clues that might lead him to discover where Ryan went, by pure chance Jack's fate is changed instantly when a facility guard comes looking for him with a re-assignment card.
And it's the worst news.
Will this new job lead to his death or to new opportunity?
It could be both.

They are quick reads but for 99 cents they are a bargain. This story is very engrossing and unique, very excited to follow along with the next segment! To the reviewer who complained at these being "chapters" and accusing the suthor if milking it... They are 99 cents each! If you put the 3 installments together they would be as long as a book and then be $3, or basically what a book like this might cost outright. I like the shorter installments coming out in less time rather than waiting a year for the entire book. Some people would complain about winning a free car because they wanted a red one and not a blue care, i swear. Lighten up

Jack has been working in the junkyard, which is described as an almost endless field of things brought in from the devastated, outside world. It also includes old buildings that are stories high.Jack is then transferred to the "scabs", which is where the junk is radioactive. When he gets there, he is assigned to a group and starts going through even more junk, looking particularly for metal. We find out the ships that leave the planet are made up of recycled metal because nothing is manufactured any more.It is interesting that Jack finds camaraderie in his new team. They fill him in on the rules and trading. They also tell him about The Junkers, another group that supposedly eats people. They kidnapped two hundred women and children months earlier. There are also mutated bugs they have to worry about. While they are locked in their carrier, they hear things scratching at the outside. We again learn a little more about Jack's past, and towards the end of the book, Jack finds a clue that may be related to Ryan.I liked this installment a lot. The friendship among the "scabs" was unexpected. The descriptions of the junk fields are almost impossible to comprehend. They are gigantic and these men are expected to go through all of it so that the "privileged" class can leave the planet.A new character--the Governor--is introduced. He is described as an overweight weasel. In a post-apocalyptic book, anyone who is overweight must be corrupt because everyone else is near starving. I expect he will be explained further in the next books. This is an excellent installment of this series.
