It has been a little while since I finished book 6, not to mention many other books in between, I was kinda lost at first. It took quite a few chapters to bring back the memories of what had happen before and it relates to what was happening now. Once I got my bearings it started coming together better. There are a lot of "story views" going on so you really need take your time and pay close attention to details to keep up with each view . I really loved the story line it was just a very busy one from many different characters.

Curse Keepers shows her devotion to telling a story about believable characters intertwined with paranormal twists and gut-wrenching emotion.I've always been enthralled with Native American culture and stories. Denise weaves her own imagination so well within the stories and history of the Native American culture that the two blend seamlessly. You will fall in love with Collin and Ellie, you will ride the emotional roller coaster along with them, and you will feel Ellie's soul-wrenching reality come crashing down. Most of all, you will be ready to read on. Move on to the second book … because Ellie deserves to have her story played out!THE CURSE BREAKERSOkeus, Ahone, David, Collin … all of them points on a star rotating around Ellie, and she's trapped in the middle. Everywhere she turns, questions accumulate faster than she can find answers. I'm excited by every single book Denise Grover Swank writes, and each time I finish one I think I can't possibly love a book more than that one. Then she writes the next book, and I'm swept up yet again. This book, however, felt as though you were reading and feelings bits of Denise's own heart and soul more so than usual. She always puts so much into every book, whether a full length novel or a novella, but something in this one resonates on such a deeper level. The Curse Defiers is, by far, the most intense of the Curse series. As I sought a way to define Ellie, I didn't feel like heroine was the correct word. It fit, yet it was missing something. Denise herself clarified precisely what I was seeking. Reluctant Heroine. Ellie Lancaster is a reluctant heroine. This was never a life she sought after. By the time this book began, she was trying to survive and figure out a way to keep not only the people she loved safe but also the innocents that continued to suffer because the gate was opened. The Ellie of The Curse Defiers is not the Ellie from the previous books. As in real life, characters can't enter something of such magnitude and come out unchanged. She continues to evolve even through this book until she emerges at the end a person she never dreamt of becoming. She's so much more than a Curse Keeper. She's not just a daughter, nor girlfriend, but someone who has been stripped down and rebuilt. Yet she never believes she has all of the knowledge or power. She realizes she has so much left to learn. I honestly cannot choose between David and Collin. It's impossible to separate Ellie's need for both men. Each man brings necessary qualities to Ellie's life, and to choose one over the other might appear that she NEEDS one more than the other. I have always believed it is possible to love two people at the same time because you love them differently and for different reasons. The Curse Keeper series as a whole teaches you never to make assumptions about a character in a book written by Denise. She will surprise you at every turn if you attempt to put them in a box or confine them to specific traits. Tsagasi is a character that is both enigmatic and endearing. His introduction to Ellie's life is vital, and she will need him in order to make it through as things spiral seemingly out of control. The Curse Defiers reiterates that life itself has so many situations that cannot be defined by the strict parameters of absolute right or absolute wrong. Even decisions they believe to irreversible have ways around them, and characters you believe to be extreme in one direction will surprise you before the book is done . . . then surprise you again! If you haven't read The Curse Keeper series, back up and start immediately! If you have read the books preceding this one, hang on because no matter how fabulous they are, The Curse Defiers blows them away!!! Knowing we are not finished with Ellie, Collin, and David is a great comfort in the aftermath of emotions from finishing Defiers. One of my favorite quotes from the book seems so appropriate to end this review with:" . . . yet the sun still rose. The world still spun. Life went on." Write on, Denise! I'm waiting anxiously for the next!

What's new to me is the cover, and the introduction to it from Denise. Both of which are excellent! I feel like Denise is talking to me with the small bit of insight into how she wrote the series. I would even love an annotated edition of the books, but that's a whole lot to ask for! ;) The Curse Keepers series caught my imagination from the very beginning. It's got me hook, line, and sinker! I ADORE this series and cannot wait to see it continue!THE CURSE KEEPERS:The Curse Keepers is a fascinating tale! At the heart of the story is Ellie Lancaster and Collin Dailey, the lost colony of Roanoke, and one nasty Native American curse that protects the world as we know it from ancient gods, monsters, and other things that go bump in the night. I instantly loved Ellie and her best friend Claire. Collin’s introduction left me wanting to know so much more than is ever revealed in this first book of the series. I initially LOVED Collin, but all of that changed very quickly at the end. I want to cause bodily harm to that man. The one question I kept asking is: why are all of these gods and creatures going after Ellie instead of Collin? It drove me bananas! And kept me reading, of course.I love this series in a big way. It’s engaging, fast paced, intriguing, and most of all a whole lot of fun. This book ends on a BIG cliffhanger, so you’ll definitely want to read The Curse Breakers right away!*****Five stars from this happy reader!!!!!*****THE CURSE BREAKERS:The Curse Breakers picks up not long after the ending of The Curse Keepers. Ellie is dealing with the fallout of Collin Dailey’s perceived betrayal, and the gods and monsters that were released when the gate to Popogusso was opened. Ellie has lost her father, her only living relative, and is left with her step-mother, Myra, to handle operations at the B&B.Mayhem ensues as Ellie is picking up the pieces the ever mysterious Collin left behind. She has grown and is trying to understand her role as a Curse Keeper. She seeks out assistance from professor David Preston. He’s entirely insufferable in their first encounter, but he ends up in Manteo studying the (now recovered) Lost Colony site. He quickly becomes more involved and LIKEABLE!I’m not going to give too much away, but Collin does reappear a few times. And he swoops in to save the day at the end. And speaking of events near the end of the book… Okeus is one big creep. I mean… wow. I’m just going to tell you now that his boundaries are quite limited. Almost non-existent.This second installment of the Curse Keepers series has left me thirsty for more. It’s just as engaging and well-paced as the first novel. I cannot wait for the third! *****Five stars*****THE CURSE DEFIERS:The Curse Defiers is quite the whirlwind read! I went in expecting the unexpected and I got more than I bargained for. Ellie’s relationship with David is kind of sweet. And he’s not at all like Collin, so that alone gets bonus points from me. Not only is Ellie being harassed in her role as Curse Keeper, she’s also pieced together memories of her mother’s death. Her very existence boils down to careful manipulation by a god. I won’t tell you which one here, you’ll have to find that out for yourself.Claire takes a small role in aiding Ellie, and I truly hope we see more of her abilities in future installments! There’s a character death that I was hoping wasn’t true until it was revealed. Collin also redeemed himself for me. I won’t say how, but he did it. That does not mean I want to see him and Ellie together just because they were made for each other. It has to happen naturally, and the man’s got some hefty competition with David around. And this coming from a person who despises love triangles!I have to say that I was so terribly heartbroken for Ellie for multiple reasons! I felt such a heavy sense of loss as the story closed out. I’m absolutely anxious for the novella featuring Collin. I wish I could time travel and read it now! The fourth book of the series is even farther away, but you can bet I'll be reading it!Finally: Okeus. Go away. You creepy weirdo. And Ahone? You’re terrible, too. Love, me! ;) *****FIVE STARS*****THIS PLACE IS DEATH:This Place is Death is SUCH a big part of this series! I'd even say it's required reading before the first Curse Keepers book! You will be witness to the actual original curse being created! It also will help you to understand the curse more.I also appreciate Denise's take on the Lost Colony! No one truly knows what happened, so keep an open mind and enjoy this fictitious journey!I really felt the betrayal of Dare when Manteo turned on him. It's a mirror of what happens at the end of the first Curse Keepers book. I love it.This novella is NOT a required read, but it will give you more insight into the series.THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING:I loved this short installment in the Curse Keepers series. Getting to see Ellie's parents in action together was great, even though it was short-lived. It's no secret that Ellie's mother died when she was young, but being witness to it was heart-wrenching! Even if it weren't for the curse, I would imagine that it would be an event a 7-year old would pray to forget.I loved seeing Ellie's and Claire's friendship. They're really more like sisters!I'll avoid the spoiler of the major twists involving Ellie's mother's murder, but I will say that while it was shocking I wasn't fully surprised. It goes to show that the curse and those who enacted it have been behind everything in a major way from the very start. I'm not sure if I should be afraid for Ellie, or afraid for Ahone/Okeus!As this was a novella, it was a quick read! It gave great insight into a part of the series that I'm sure will play a major role as Denise continues the series. I'm greatly looking forward to The Curse Defiers and everything to follow!Five starsTHIS IS YOUR DESTINY:**Possible spoilers ahead! Total Baking Soda By tassy This book takes the BS out of Baking Soda and now I have a pot of the stuff on my counter top where I never ever had one before. What an amazing book that informs us BS is not only good in cooking but for our health and cleaning too, in fact BS is the most precious substance on the planet so buy it now and this book before it becomes blue chip on the stock exchange.

The author did a great job in relaying the information in this book, the contents were easy to read . By SpanishLady Finally Lilliana, Gwynne's lovely daughter is a woman ready to give herself over to her 2 mates.She travels through time to the future to study at the University, what she wasn't counting on and tried with all her might was to go unnoticed. What she wasn't counting on either was being attracted to a certain student.Conor is smitten when he sees Lilliana in his head and dreams, he must get close to her. So he signs up to her class, just so he can be close and look at the beauty that has caught his eye.It is an attraction that cannot be since Conor is not a shifter, or so thinks Lilliana, will Conor prove to be able to challenge for her, or will they be thrust forward to a time where anything is possible for them.Lord Graeme is a very worthy challenger and Lilliana's deor likes him, but will he be able to accept Conor, or any 2nd male for that matter?Lots of intrigue, so many questions, can't wait for the next book in this wonderful story.Great beginning to Lilliana's story Ms. WilderI was gifted this book for an honest review.

By Catrina Thomas-Jefferson I throughly enjoyed this spinoff of the Sought by the Alphas series in which we follow along with Lilliana, the daughter of Gwynne, Lachlan, and Rauth, as she attempts to balance the desires that she develops while visiting modern England with the responsibilities awaiting her at home. It is time for Lily to choose and to settle down with her mates, and though she is willing to do her duty as she has been raised to do, Lily can't stop thinking about and longing for the human man Conor that she meets during her time travel. Yet, her parents have come up with the idea of holding a tournament to find the shifters worthy of being Lilliana's mates. Her deor spots a dragon shifter named Graeme who sparks her interest. However, the question remains as to whether Lily has met the ones meant for her. The surprising cliffhanger sets things up perfectly for what promises to be an exciting part two. I can't wait until I get the chance to continue the story!

From the beginning tou are drawn in by the fact that this is the daughter of The Queen. Gwendolyn dod such a great job with her in the story. I Love the fact that even though she is in the future she can always go back to the past and visit her family. The fact that her father's are in this is a sexy plus. Who wouldn't want 2 hot dad's? But back to the issue at hand. She k n ows that at the end of her school semester she hasnto return to commit to the Ritual. What she doesn't know is that one of her mate's is there in the future with her while the other i s on her past. With a tournament to win her hand I wonder which shifter will make it to be her mate. Alot of action in this one hold on to your hats it gets better all the way to the last page. I really cant wait for the next one.

I also looked inside of the book; it had shown the first shampoo bar recipe. Looks promising, right! I bought it hopping for liquid shampoo recipe; after all, that that what the title said. Wrong!!!! Liquid shampoo is just a mix of liquid Castile soap, oil, and water. The natural shampoo section include shampoo with honey, baking soda, etc.. I got a lot out of "Liquid soap guide" by Marie White. I give one star for the author's afford.

When you find out how you can make quality shampoo with quality ingredients, it goes to show you what low quality stuff can be used in shampoo that you buy in the store. It will be hard to ever buy shampoo from a store again!

What it is, is a great pocket-sized book with color photographs of and instructions for 200 knitting stitches, from simple garter stitch to elaborate cables and laces. What sets this little book apart other than it's compact size is Ms. Pawlowski's advice: How best to use each stitch (is it best for a bag or a sweater? as trim?); How much yarn does each stitch consume relative to stockinette, etc. If you're a beginner to intermediate knitter and like to travel with your knitting, I highly recommend it.

McKenna As someone who does knitting as a hobby only, I found this book to be extremely helpful in brushing up on some stitches, while also learning many new stitches and the best way to use them. I thought the combination of instructions and photographs was very helpful in learning the new stitches. Ms. Pawlowski's instructions were very clear and I found myself doing all sorts of new stitches in no time. I would recommend this for all knitters hoping to brush up on their stitches, while also learning many new ones!

Stitch guide for a beginner going beyond the basics By Carol Mello The organization of the book follows the field guide structure such as found in the Audubon Society Field Guides to Birds of North America (Eastern Region/Western Region). Knitters who have also used the Audubon Field Guides to birds or wildflowers will feel quite at home with this knitting field guide. As anyone who has used nature field guides knows, the field guides are written by experts and used by non-experts who wish to expand their experience on their own when out in the field practicing their hobby. I know a Robin and a Crow without a field guide but it took a field guide to help me identify my first non-mating male Lesser Goldfinch or my first Bronzed Cowbird.Just as the bird field guides' glossy photo pages are organized by type of bird (waders, owls, perching birds, etc) and color of bird, this knitting field guide to 200 stitches (which other reviewers have pointed out are considered common to experienced knitters) has a glossy photo section color coded by type of stitch. Knit and purl stitch photos contain samples knitted in shades of pink & red yarn; cable stitches are knitted in shades of yellow and orange; open work & lace stitches are knitted in shades of blue; and ribbings are knitted in shades purple while edgings are in shades of brown. This makes finding a particular type of stitch in color sample pages easy. With the color stitch samples all in one section, one can flip rapidly through them when trying to decide on possible stitches for use in a planned project. The glossy color photos have excellent definition -- so how the stitch looks knitted up is quite clear, unlike the black and white photos in the comprehensive Barbara Walker treasuries which do not always do justice to the stitches.The rest of the field guide contains white non-reflective pages that describe the stitches with a cross reference to each stitch sample photo in the glossy section. Along with a written description of each stitch covered, there are icons that give one a quick grasp of certain characteristics of the stitch. I love the icons. I can quickly skim the description pages looking for stitches with icons for the characteristics I am looking for. Is it stretchy? Is it reversible? How much yarn does it use compared to other stitches? Is it mindless (good for knitting while watching TV indicated by a TV icon) or does it required single minded attention (indicated by a warning sign icon)? Will it look particularly nice in a variegated yarn? In addition to the basic description of the stitch, the text also includes comments about the thickness/bulkiness of the fabric; its drape characteristics; and whether the fabric lies flat or has tendency to curl or form pleats. Lastly, the guide contains a "Suggested Uses" paragraph for each stitch which I also love: would this stitch pattern be good for a scarf? a belt? an afghan? a pillow? a boxy jacket? a baggy sweater? clothing for a child?While not useful to experienced knitters who know everything in this book, this book is very useful to someone like me who is ready to go beyond the basics and beyond reliance on patterns written by others. It's a small handy size and does not take up much space: a good book for my knitting bag rather than my knitting bookshelves where my copies of the comprehensive Barbara Walker treasuries and Vogue Stitchionaries must reside due to their size.Unlike the Audubon Society field guides, the knitting field guide does not have a water-proof cover but it probably does not need one :P.

"The title sums things up for me" By Father Ted Call me old fashioned, but having a 15 year old girl as the main character is fine for a Nancy Drew type of story, but when things centre around her looks, her 'voluptuous figure' and the effect her legs and body have on grown men, then it's sleazy, not wholesome. Apart from that unpleasant vibe, this was yet another four chapter 'taster' for a bigger story. It was all pretty basic fare though, with cardboard characters and not particularly scintillating dialogue - perhaps that explains the need for the titillation?

The more you win, the more about which you must worry - A fine addition to the Privateer Tales By Lynn Robert Carter I'm fully subscribed to the universe that Jamie is creating and find that I really care for these characters. I really like the friends and associates Liam Hoffen keeps and I'm thankful that Jamie seems to like them as well. I appreciate that serious thought went into these stories and that it is brain power, dedication, and realistic risk taking as opposed to magic technology and pure luck at the heart of these stories.In this fine installment, Liam moves beyond being an effective tactician toward the start of being a strategic thinker and he now leverages and has to worry about a small but growing community of people and ships that are dear to him. The development and growth of our protagonist was done well and is much appreciated.

By jjdrymiller This review covers "Buccaneers", "Smuggler's Dilemma" and "Parley". Why? Somehow these three books got published in the series without me realizing it. When I discovered Parley had been released I immediately got it and finished it quickly only to discover the other two were out there waiting. So I picked them both up and read the three back-to-back.I find the series very entertaining. Liam is maturing and his relationship with Tabby developing. The whole crew Nick, Marny, Jack, Tali, Celina and the folks just play off of each other so well. The adventures are real and this is a crew you just grow to like.Keep them coming. I am having a great time.

The previous books have been enjoyable and entertaining. Smuggler's Dilemma doesn't disappoint the reader. Again we catch up to Liam and the gang after destroying their ship Sterra's gift and are trying to figure out what their next move is. Liam quickly finds a new ship and before long the group is off on another adventure. The story flows nicely with a few slow parts but is peppered with so much activity that it never gets boring. The author takes time to build on each character that makes the reader care about what happens to them. As with each of the previous books you will not go wrong with this one. It will keep you engaged and entertained right up to the end of the book.

Gorgeous and informative book about bead and wire jewelry By iiiireader I have been making jewelry for a number of years but one technique that I have always been unsure of is working with wire. I have looked for a book that can provide me with a good foundation for learning the skills involved but, until now, I have not found one that works well for me."Bead & Wire Fashion Jewelry: A Collection of Stunning Statement Pieces to Make" is a fairly comprehensive guide to beginning to intermediate wire work. It lists the tools needed, shows them visually, and then tells how to use the tools, again showing visually how each step is taken. I learn both by reading and by seeing, so the way this book is set up is perfect for me. I can read each step, see how it is done, confirm that what I am seeing is what I am reading and then proceed to doing each step on my own jewelery.The author, Jessica Rose, has laid out each step and then builds on those. She shows the tools, the beads, the wires, etc. Once she has stepped you through the process, then she has provided a myriad of projects - all very stylish and some, very sophisticated. The projects include: necklaces, earrings, bracelets, and rings. There are projects in each category that I am impatient to start; however, I will do the wise thing and start with baby steps and learn the processes one-by-one before jumping into the deep end.The book is filled with gorgeous color pictures - tools, beads, mood/inspiration shots (where the author tells how she was inspired to each of the projects - wonderful information for those of us who will want to then design their own pieces), and finally, pictures of the beautiful projects - both in finished form and in the step-by-step stages of how to create your own jewelry. The author includes shopping lists of all items needed for the projects and has a list of suppliers (both in the UK and the USA)at the end of the book.It is a beautiful book and one that I have been waiting and looking for for years. I am really pleased to have found it and recommend it to anyone who wants to learn how to do bead and wire jewelry. I am planning to make Christmas gifts based on this book and I know that the recipients are going to love their hand made and unusual jewelry.I received a temporary digital copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest and unbiased review. I so enjoyed the book, I purchased it immediately so I can have a paperback version in my library of craft books.

Utilizes non-conventional materials By crafty I bought this book, and didn't get any discounts.The book combines wire, beads, feathers and other materials, including glue.I work with wire, and this book isn't the kind of jewelry, I create. If you work with fabric, leather and lace, you probably will like this book.

Gorgeous photos, step-by-step directions, lovely book By A customer Author Jessica Rose's book Bead & Wire Fashion Jewelry is a book I would like to use when attempting to make my first piece of jewelry. I've been thinking about attempting to make a bracelet, as it's difficult to find bracelets to fit my large wrist.After reading Rose's book, I may drive down to our local craft store and buy some of the supplies needed to make a bracelet. If I can't find what I need locally, I can always order from one of the suppliers listed in Rose's book.
