Plague Season, a novel in two parts by Maggie Waters. Part 1: Pandora. It is the year 2050. The people of Arcadia and the surrounding suburbs have lived for twenty years in fear of autumn: the season that brings with it a plague that terrorizes humanity. Killing thousands of people each year during its three-month run, the plague is given a name depending on how it claims its victims. The Paralyzing. The Bleeding. The Retching. No one has been able to stop it, and the cause has never been uncovered. But eighteen-year-old Hope Hunter believes someone, somewhere knows the truth of how the plagues began and how they will end, and she and her closest friend, Jake Whitlaw, are determined to discover the answers. In the process, they will risk everything -- including love, including their own lives -- to find the cure for Plague Season. This dystopian medical thriller is published in two parts. Part 1: Pandora ends with a cliffhanger, which is resolved in Part 2: No Mercy. Part 1 is approximately 40,000 words.

I don't want to give the story away but every time I thought I had it figured out the tables were turned on me. This is a very skillfully written dystopian tale of a recurring plague and one girl's effort's to fight it. Very smart. I like that. I want more.

Clearly this book tells of what perils could be in our future. Luckily though there are always people fighting for the next generation, so there is Hope!

Definitely worth checking out By robert james mccullough The pacing, tension and forward momentum in the narrative here is quite excellent, I like the concept and thought the plotting was tight and well organized as well. If you enjoy this particular genre, give this a shot, its definitely got a lot going for it.
