Devon Sinclair loved her life. As one of the biggest parasites in DC, she spent every day bribing officials and ruining the American dream for the working class as she lobbied politicians on behalf of her clients. At the top of her game, she was highly sought after by every dirt bag corporation and scum with their own agenda to corrode America for financial gain and power. None of them had a clue who her true employers were. The truth was, she had chosen sides in the hidden, dark war consuming the world long ago, and she had never regretted it. Until she stumbled across the strange alien who literally walked into her path outside her house and set her heart and body on fire. Drago fle’ te’ Trugh had come to the strange city of Washington, DC to help his sister in law find a prime hunter and to help track the traitorous prime who had attempted to kill one of their own. He’d been in town only days when he ran into the beautiful, strong and enigmatic woman who short circuited his energy and left him aching to touch her. The more clues that Drago and his brothers uncover, the more convinced he becomes that the woman of his dreams is among the members of the Relian cult trying to destroy the world and the human race. With a prime traitor close on their heels and the depth of the betrayal becoming clearer, Drago will have just one chance to save her, but only if he can convince her to turn from the cult determined to destroy them all.

By Joy I am giving this a middle of the road review not due to any failing or success of the book but due to the fact that you need to have read the other titles in the series to understand the plot. I bought this book because the sample seemed interesting but the story spends equal time around other characters and is based heavily on a pre existing story. So if you don't have the skinny on past events you are going to be lost.I'm the type of reader that likes the focus to be on the two main characters and this wasn't that kind of story. Because of that issue it didn't grab my attention, even after I skimmed ahead a bit.I will say it seems like a good value for the amount of pages but other than that I couldn't say.

World building, character building, and storytelling are phenomenal! A bit of a sadist, but talented. I love the new additions to this series. The Dranovians are amazing! I feel horrible for the women trapped by Satalis. The Dark Prime lives up to his reputation, but he's like a sadistic Hugh Hefner. Weird twists everywhere. The story flows well and many times I found myself scratching my head wondering if what I was thinking was happening was really happening or if it was a plot device to mess with me. Then I would convince myself that couldn't be right. Then I'd flip a 180 and be back where I started. Thought I was a pancake on a griddle for a while there! Flip-Flip-flip-flip-FLIP! (See... sadist.)As the previous reviewer expressed, other than typos (word usage errors), this is another stellar performance in the First Wave and Second Wave series.I love Drago. He's a huge teddy bear with GRIZZLY BEAR tendencies when those he loves are threatened. Seriously! Yum! But he's not all misty eyes and hugs nor is he all rip, tear, shred. The big lug has a brain and a heart as well. When his teddy bear side is frustrated, confused, or hurting I just want to cuddle up next to him and tell him it's all going to work out okay.Angel drives me nuts. The girl knows that her family loves her and wants to protect her, but just can't keep her crazy butt out of trouble. I have two words for this chick... IMPULSE CONTROL!Deven makes me want to throw something at her head. Rather than trusting her instincts, she keeps trying to push away the one person who can't be pushed away. Then she pulls him closer. Then gets upset about it. Do you like him? Yes. Do you love him? Probably. Then what the hell is the problem. You know who and what he is and that he's strong, reliable, deadly, and capable. Make up your frickin' mind! This whole series allows us to meet people who are strong and determined, loved and loving, and to really hate some of the villains and their dastardly plans. I mean really, who doesn't enjoy it when the people who are messing with my planet get their asses kicked?

Example: using the word brothers. Editing used brother's when it should have been brothers That's it. Just some regular typos. Now the good stuff. I have read every book in the "First Wave" series and absolutely loved them! Dragon's story was right up there with all the rest in First Wave..Please start with the books in First Wave. Use the lending library at Amazon to begin.
