8 of 8 people found the following review helpful. An unpredictable and fun read By John Patin A great read. I had encountered E. R. Mason's writing before in his Fatal Boarding SF series and liked them quite a bit, but was not certain what I was buying into at first, with Demon's Well. It LOOKED like some sort of YA haunted house thriller. It is not. There is much more going on here than a simple haunted house yarn. It is SF, but beyond that I won't say more lest I give something away. The only reason I don't give it a full 5 stars are a couple of typos, a timeline that seems a bit shaky at one point (but may be the result of a typo), a female character misnamed in one place causing some brief POV confusion and a 'high five' reference that I believe is anachronistic to the time period being described. Other historical references seem well researched, however. Over all, my objections are minor nit picks. This is a fun, enjoyable read, well worth your time and the measly 99 cents the author asks. Though there is certainly room for sequels (I would quickly snap them up), Demon's Well is a solid, complete novel that has a satisfactory conclusion and does NOT leave the reader hanging in any way. Pick this one up and have some fun for a few hours.
6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. I absolutely love E. R By Wildgoose I absolutely love E. R. Masons sci-fi space Fatal Boarding and sequels and this story was another great hit with me. His writing style has just the right amount of comedy and interaction between characters.
5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. Fantastic read! By GL After waiting what seemed like an eternity after finishing the last book, I am happy to have read Mr. Mason's newest book. A fantastic adventure, wonderful character development and a real page turner! Enjoyed the historical aspect (you'll have to read the book to find out what I mean by that!)Well done Mr Mason! There are some typos and just a couple little inconsistencies. But by no means do these detract from the story. My only regret is that I finished the story so quickly! Now I have to wait for the next ingenious story to come forth...soon I hope.
