GuthrieSome days it doesn't pay to get up in the morning. Psychiatrist Michael Ryan is having one of those. Never one to be accident prone, he is beset with one near catastrophe after another. After narrowing missed by cars and subway trains, finding out his patient is having a psychotic breakdown and his girlfriend of eight years decided to break off their engagement, Michael thinks nothing else can possibly gowrong. But it does.Someone bumps into him and he is hurled down the cement steps of the subway station, slamming right into a woman who tumbles on top of him. Assessing his aches and bruises but finding nothing broken, he concedes that this is not his day.The woman, oddly, is not hurt at all. Nope, not a good day at all. His old friend, Detective Ramos, arrives after the 911 call and is not certain this and all the other mishaps are accidental. The beautiful young woman who landed on top of him tends to agree. Michael shrugs off their warnings to be watchful in the future.Author Patricia A. Guthrie writes an enjoyable suspense story with likable characters---except for one.This is a quick, yet fascinating readwith a twist ending one does not see coming; proving that people are so often not what they seem and "Willed Accidents' can and do happen.Micki Peluso
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Willed Accidents - a fun easy read. By Neva Accidents will happen, but in this case they seem far too coincidental. Cars careening toward him, his falling down the subway stairs and nearly being pushed off a mountainside by another driver causes Michael, a psychiatrist, to wonder if something else is the cause. In just one short week he is faced with several questions as he tries to determine if his life is really in danger or if he's just accident prone. His new girlfriend is too eager to start a relationship and his ex-girlfriend acts like she's been spurned, and they're all constantly running into each other. Awkward. On top of that fiasco, he now has an unstable, escaped mental patient who thinks he is spawned by the devil. Other than that, life is good.Willed Accidents is a fun read for a rainy afternoon. Kick off your shoes, pop some corn and try to figure out with Michael if someone's actually trying to kill him, and if so, why?
