I have read every one of her books and I eagerly wait for her next release. But I was dissapointed in this book. But let's start with the positives:1. As always the story is written well, with limited or no typos, and creative use of language to invoke imagery.2. We got to spend time with Trig and now I can't wait for his story! We also got a teaser of Jarmen from the Lords of Kassis series. I have been dying for his story, and was thrilled to get snippets of his and Janes story.3. We also got more of Taylor and Saber . I can't wait for their story too!The things that are not so good:1. For me this story lacked depth and the angst. I just didn't have the nervous, expectant, feeling in the bottom of my belly, that compels me to fly through the pages.2. I didn't care for the flash backs. Don't get me wrong, reminiscing about how they first met serves a purpose, but I would rather hear it in the first chapter or the prologue, not through most of the story.3. The villains motivation was never really clear to me. I was also dissapointed with Dagger during the climax when he had the chance to really lay into the villian. Instead the villian gets eaten by a wild animal! It wasn't satisfying at all. I wanted him to be ripped from limb to limb.4. The hero and heroine just didn't draw me into their love story. It wasn't poignant for me. Maybe there wasn't enough action. I found myself more interested in the sub plots than the actual story.: (Please Mrs. Smith, I can wait for as long as it takes for the story to be ready. I would rather wait than have a quick fix and be dissapointed.P.S. I will still be reading : )

This is about Dagger and the two long years of captivity he had endured, fighting each day just to stay alive and his Amate, Jordan that had relentlessly spent those years searching for him. He had promised to return to her and she would not give up until he was back in her arms where he belonged.Dagger is a strong, feared Trivator warrior who was ambushed while on a mission by a notorious and ruthless mercenary. This mercenary uses him to add to his wealth by placing Dagger in cage fights that lead to death for those that do not win. He believes that Dagger is his property, he belongs to him and the only escape for Dagger is death in the cage. The only thing that keeps him going is the memory of Jordan and the promise he made to return to her.Jordan is a middle sister that we first met when Hunter, Saber and Dagger found the sister’s hiding place on Earth. Even wounded and sick, she tried to protect her younger sister, Taylor. She has a backbone made of steel and is highly intelligent. She refuses to believe that he is dead and uses her knowledge of computers to find Dagger. Jordan is determined to bring Dagger home where he belongs and nothing or no one will stop her from finding her Amate.This book has intense moments and is filled with twists that reacquaint us with "old" characters from previous series that are reintroduced to us in this "new" series. I found myself intrigued, wondering where the author was going and once again couldn't stop reading until I had finished. Ms. Smith gifts us with a beautiful, heart-stopping out of this world story that not only entertains the reader but also opens up endless possibilities. Smith's books,and now Dagger is right up there with it. Dagger and Jordan have been separated for over two years.Jordan is the only one that didn't give up on Dagger when they said that he had been killed.Dagger is being forced to fight for a very bad villain....and Jordan is just smart enough to find out where he his.I really liked that Jordan was so smart, but also smart enough to ask for help to get to Dagger.Their love story is sweet, in spite of the violence that surrounds them and is full of action,sexy moments and a great story line.
