What would happen if Gwen lost control of the body she's "visiting"? What would Katherine do? How would this affect Gwen's friends and family? Well, now you can know. This is a very well-done story with some twists and turns. It's darker than the previous books, but only because you care about Gwen and want her to be happy. She's not always happy now. But, it gets better. If you liked the previous Gwen Ferris books, you'll like this one. If you like any other P.S. Power book, you should definitely pick up this series. It's well worth it.

For a time Kat takes over, but never fear, Gwen will find a solution.P.S. Power has written another novel about an parallel reality that is mind boggling and at the same time very warm and loving. I couldn't put it down.As usual I recommend this well written novel to all readers who are followers of the author as well as new readers. I believe you will find a great story with characters that will become friends and a plot that will keep you reading until sunrise.

Overall, the Farris books began as a decent series, but unfortunately as the books have continued, they've fallen prey to the many of the same problems that have plagued the author's other recent books. Chief among these is a laziness in the writing that resorts to major cheats in advancing the narrative that Powers has become increasingly dependent on. Since this series has already had the "the last 100 pages of story were all a dream" trick in a previous volume, here we get the "main character wakes up to find the whole world has changed, which means that most of the unresolved plot threads have been resolved in absentia" plot device. Equally annoying is the fact that the main character has become an insufferable Mary Sue, somehow able to do things that no one else on the planet is able to do... It's one thing to pull this riff once with magic, but at this point Gwen's superiority in all things extends to labor relations, inventing, writing, international trade, martial arts, etc., etc., while everyone else marvels... yet she never stops mewling about how sad and pitiful she is. The biggest failing of the book, however, is simple: for all the pages used, remarkably little actually happens on-screen, while most of the major events are only described in past tense in vague detail.
