In Darkness, Light Shines Bright (Great Story) By Randy Tramp The BookAfter the apocalypse and escaping Los Angeles, Elle is stranded alone in California when the Slaver kidnaps her friends. She determines to rescue them.My ThoughtsI had read Day Zero by Summer last year. After watching the movie, “The Fifth Wave,” I again became interesting in dystopian stories. I picked up Day One, the continuing saga of Elle and the apocalypse, and jumped into the world after the unthinkable happens. After book one, Elle has changed and has become tougher as she shifts into survival mode. The question, “What would I do if I were faced with destruction?” stays with me as I read Day One.I first became a fan of dystopian stories through Summer’s first book-Day Zero. Another book in this genre that’s really good is Rachelle Dekker’s Choosing.A character shines the brightest when faced with the darkest moments. Summer paints a very dark picture but an alive spirit within a teenager. The world is in chaos with no electricity or electronics. Nothing. Since the human spirit presses forward, hope shines in the midst of darkness.

By patiscynical The further adventures of Elle, in the apocalypse. This is the second book, and in this one Elle is trying to find the friends she met in book one. They were captured and she tracks them through the Mojave.Elle has some excellent survival skills, which is interesting, considering her privileged background. The story could use some better proofreading, and I don't much care for the flashback method of telling the backstory, but it's fairly entertaining. Results: an interesting post apocalyptic story, kind of short, and there's another 'book' you'll have to pay for if you want to read more.

Because not much of her back story was given in The Collapse Series, I had a difficult time deciding whether or not I could trust her. The Zero Trilogy gives you all the insight you need as to why she's the way she is. Her and Cassidy are very much alike and I've enjoyed learning about those similarities.Now...what am I going to do waiting for the next installments of each series??.
