The Namib Desert is a vast, arid expanse of constantly moving gravel plains and dunes. About the Author South African photographer Miona Janeke went on a three-week journey with the sole purpose of photographing Namibia’s wild desert horses. Seven months later she has remained, as the soul and character of the land have kept her bound.Miona holds a BA degree in Applied Design and Photography from the Stellenbosch Academy of Graphic Design and Photography, graduating at the end of 2008.A wildlife photographer with two solo exhibitions under her belt, she is an avid conservationist and involved with various conservation projects. This is her first venture into nature photography and her first book.

By A Happy Traveler This beautiful book is a celebration of the wild horse herd which has roamed the Namibia Desert for ages. Miona Janeke is a very talented and highly trained professional photographer whose career is photographing wild life. From South Africa, she came to the vast desert alone with only her camera, tent, and some supplies, intending to follow the herd for three weeks, but she ended up staying seven months...Obviously a brave woman who loves nature and will try anything! She followed the herd, trekking in this rugged landscape and capturing the most beautiful images of these untamed beings, so stunning in their everyday life and so majestic against the rough terrain. The text which accompanies each picture is moving as well as explanatory. This book is a perfect gift for horse lovers and nature lovers.
