About the Author Your author is an avid bird hunter and at age 76 has been hunting over his own dogs for 50 years. For thirty years he competed in field trials, mainly in the grouse woods. He was able to win a few championships with his own and a couple owned by his friends. He judged and reported a number of trials over his competitive years. But upland hunting was his true love and motivation for competing with his dogs. Since retiring from field trials around 1996, he continued to enjoy hunting across the country and Canada. Through this collection of stories he shares his memories of field trial competition and hunting.
