Loved this book more than words can express. Write faster, sir. Couldn't help but to binge read this and the previous book, even though I didn't want either of them to end. Everything about it is great, and I'm far more tickled by the names Hamon and Hamarth than I'd like to admit. Popester just managed to pull me in with just about every character he created, and the storyline itself is far more complex than I originally assumed it would be. It's not just a "good versus evil" sort of book; there are inner conflicts of the main character as well as a huge gray area between right and wrong that Dagger must face. And the author also seemed to aim toward a more mature audience with this second book, which I liked.All in all, I've searched for ages for a good book that satisfies without irritating me with stupid clichés and subplots thrown here and there in a poor attempt to grab my attention. This book... It does away with that stuff. Thank you for not being the norm, Mr. Popester. You do you.

Bloody, morbid, and downright gory! But different and refreshing. There are some places that are edited so badly I would have to compose the sentence from scratch to have it make sense. I for one am not put off by that, Im not stupid, I can figure out what the author is trying to say well enough. The story is cool enough that it didn't matter. There are defiantly no funny dwarves, or sparkling vampires. Just a lot of hard core life, wars, and inner turmoil. There is also many good life lessons thrown in. You can find some awesome rock/metal references if your cool.enough to know what to look for, ha! Keep it up!

I usually read several books a week but had to struggle with these first two. The reason I gave it four stars and finished it is because of Dagger. Although his character is somewhat under developed for me, his personality grows and I keep reading because I want to find out what happens to him.I could highlight almost every sentence in this book because the writing is that profound and meaningful. It isn't quite the greatest fantasy series out there but it's really good.
