By Painter I was disappointed with the look of the book (looks more like a pamphlet). I was misguided by the cover; I was expecting to find instructions on how to make a painting that looks like the one on the cover; however, there are no color pictures in this book. It is just a 12-page book with basic exercises. Not very inviting to reading it. Not what I am used to finding in similar books.

A pamphlet of 24 pages, with a few sentences on each page, with basic info on acrylics that is more useless than what you could find for free on wikipedia.21 pages divided into 5 chapters with basic info on how to do a few "exercises" in each. Chapter 1 deals with mixing colors, Chapter 2 is pencil shading, Chapter 3 is on still lifes, Chapter 4 is landscapes, and Chapter 5 is on Abstract and photorealistic painting.An example from Chapter 3 is: "Now for the Shadows. Take the main color of an object and add any darker color. Make sure the color you make is dark enough for the shadow."An example from Chapter 5 on how to do abstract painting: "Step 2- Paint various shapes one-by-one. For example, first paint in all red shapes. Then all yellow, then green, then dark-green, etc."With amazing expertise like this, why would you need any other book on painting?Let me remind you that all of these pages have between 1 and 20 sentences each. And tiny black and white images that you can't see anything. Art examples taken from websites. One I thought was funny was a small B&W picture showing all of the colors made when mixing various colors together. This book, along with another book here on Amazon "Acrylic Painting: The Ultimate Guide to Acrylic Painting" by Sana Tracy, are both very similar books, but with the contents slightly rearranged. They are made recently by the same publishing company in California, and even have the same fake 'positive' reviews here by the same people. Don't fall for the positive reviews - this book is a scam.
