By Barbarian Beyond The Black River is a gutsy and barbaric struggle of everyday people trying to survive the attacking Picts which are small animalistic men bent on killing innocent men, women, and children. REH Scholars say this is one or if not his best story. This is a story about Picts, small short evil looking tribes people, that are killing off everday people for no reason. Conan, Balthus, and a brave dog fight to save the villages and people. It's a couragous, heart breaking, action packed story about survival of the strongest and fiercest fighters. I first read this book in middle school By Kindle Customer I read this book in 7th grade and still remember sitting around the lunch room table talking with my friends about the characters. I bought a copy of the Savage Sword of Conan comic at the shoppette at Camp Hovey in Korea and started reading Howard again after a long hiatus. The story is as fresh and exciting now as when I was a kid. My oldest just graduated basic at Fort Benning and has an entire Howard collection on his kindle. Love all of them.

If you're looking for Pulitzer Prize stories, best look elsewhere. If you're looking for fast paced, well written, fun stories then this is your e-book.
