Don't trust politicians By s.h2ocasa Opening the book learning about four metahumans having been in prison for thirty years in a Russian cell without seeing the light of day or being without chains sparked my attention and got me thinking about the possible plotline to this book. Great start.I hated the politics in this book and was angry quite a bit reading. I wanted Sienna to seek revenge for the things that appeared to me as unnecessary harassment and belittling of my girl. I admired her constraint. I was rooting for Sienna to quit and let the agency deal with the evil that was to come on their own...serve them right and maybe teach them a lesson and take the smugness out of them. Yeah, right...politicians will always be vial, self serving and uninterested in the needs of the public...as long as things are "perceived" in a good light for them. I'm still bitter as to what was done to Sienna by the government in this election year!Sienna had to deal with another metahuman, who hates her and once again plotting her demise while also having to take a back seat in her agency controlling the metahumans. Good to see Reed working beside her. Did I see Scott? J.J. is becoming a special member of the "team". The "voices" in her head, to me, were giving sound advice. Appreciate how they all work together helping Sienna see a more comprehensive view of life, especially in her demanding capacity as leader, protector.Another good book in this Out of The Box series. Recommend it. Will have to wait until June when the next book is to be released. Can't wait...love me some Sienna.

My only dislike is that I feel like I'm not getting whole books (they are 200-350 pages) for my money, more like chapters spread out into novelettes.
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Two Really Excellent Series By Muse of Hell I have been reading this series since I discovered the original books that preceded this series. There are very original characters, realistic problems, sometimes absolutely wild plot twists and each book is planned in such a way that it ties up all the different threads so you are not left thinking "Uh, but what happened to (fill in the blank)?" The female protagonist, Sienna Nealon, is young and impulsive but learns to be disciplined because of the powers she acquires -- sometimes in very unpleasant ways over which she has no control. The original series, "The Girl in the Box" details Sienna's journey from her cloistered life (sometimes literally in a box) where she was never allowed outside and was trained by her mother to be able to fight in many different styles and disciplined rather viciously in response to any slight failure, through only 3 years to being the head of an agency whose purpose is to protect the public from people with powers similar to Sienna's. The series "Out of the Box" continues Sienna's story dealing with typical governmental bureaucrats and officials who have other unspoken agendas using Sienna for their own gain. Hopefully I haven't given any major "spoilers" because I truly have enjoyed these books and would recommend them to those who like suspense and well-crafted stories.
